Pastor John is passionate about the church growing in love with God and in loving our neighbors. He grew up in the green belt known as Portland Oregon, where he met Jesus Christ at a young age through Vacation Bible School. At Judson Baptist College, he fell in love with his sweetheart for life, Deanna. John later earned a Master of Divinity degree in 1993 from Fuller Theological Seminary, and served at three churches prior to becoming our Senior Pastor in 2007.
John enjoys music (especially the bands U2 and Switchfoot), sports, the outdoors, coffee and especially Deanna’s cooking. The Geiters have four children: Steffan and his wife Heather, Daniel, Kristianna and Caleb. John’s favorite verse is: “And we know that God causes everything to work together for the good of those who love Him and are called according to His purpose for them.” Romans 8:28
In August 2017 John received a call to Pastor an ECO church in Klamath, Falls Oregon. He will be leaving Corona at the end of September to follow this path. Rev. Dr. Ed Black will be stepping in to the role of Transitional Pastor until a new lead pastor is called to Corona.
Pastor Ed is the son of missionary parents and surrendered his heart, mind and life to the Lord at an early age on a Sunday afternoon after thinking through the Spirit filled messages he received during Church school and a worship service. Ed responded to God’s call to ministry when in University. He met a very wonderful lady in a lunch line in Chicago which began an amazing friendship. Janet and Ed were married and God blessed them with three children, all of whom are now married to amazing friends. Ed completed graduate degrees at Westminster Theological Seminary, Princeton Theological Seminary and received his doctorate at Covenant Theological Seminary.
Ed enjoys good books, great art, and exceptional dark chocolate! Ed stays active with hiking, biking, racquetball, skiing, wood work and oil painting. He loves sharing special times connecting with God and people.
Pastor Ed has graciously agreed to step in as the Transitional Pastor position as Pastor John pursues a call in Oregon.
A Colorado native and lover of all things social, Kristina has an excitement and passion for getting to know people, their stories and their experiences. A recent graduate of Denver Seminary’s Justice and Mission Master’s program, Kristina has been able to develop her love for people into a career based in local and international mission and community outreach. This calling has been nurtured and solidified through her ongoing relationship with a medical outreach team based in Port-Au-Prince Haiti and being raised in a missionary family where the desire to love other for Christ was celebrated and encouraged. She is married to Lucas, a Next Generations and Mission pastor in Longmont, who has his own love for missions in Haiti and has a committed heart for outreach.
Together they love cooking, camping and spending time with family and friends. Kristina’s favorite verse is Psalm 46:10, “Be still and know that I am God; I will be exalted among the nations, I will be exalted in the earth.”
